Caress the gentle flowing of your hair Heartbeat quickens as our thoughts slowly subside Your touch meets with mine, together we ignite The world was conceived to make this moment just for us tonight We belong We are one We combine We are sound and we are silence Our souls hum in resonance Space between is ever moving, never stationary Blur the line of flesh that once divided you and me Ecstatic breath our senses mesh and we become the beat Tonight in this moment the whole world we will conceive We belong We are one We entwine We are love and we are grace Our souls hum in resonance We give life

Letting go of all the love you never knew It’s not easy now, is it? You know it’s not what you want but you don’t know what you do You just kind of go with it. Too old to just get up and start again, Too young to imagine the rest of your life with him, The money, the home, the pets, the friends you pull in half, The job, the garden, the kids you never had. Letting go it takes a lot of time to think it through So you don’t regret it. The pull of desire leads you heart away but still you stay Don’t know if you should let it. Mondays anxious fears kept you up too late By Wednesday it’s not so bad, you’ll just accept your fate Friday decide to take a ride and leave the state, But then you wait, Paralyzed. Push past the inertia to move. Draw your breath, forget what you have to lose. It feels so slow when you first fight gravity’s pull When you’re so uncertain of your final goal. But you find the strength, And you break the past, Apologize, Close your eyes, And step aside.

It’s just another Michigan winter Starts in November, ends in May The frost on the windshield, the frost on the grass The blue sky gives way as the earth turns to gray Baby, I’m sleepwalkin’, don’t mind me, that’s just the coffee talkin’ Scrape the ice off my eyes, start it up and then drive We’ll be warm by the time we arrive Just in time to go back outside The slush in the potholes, the salt on my shoes I break and the snow slides, the freezing road construction crews Baby, I just keep driving, slip on until we arrive And I scrape the sleep from my eyes, pour a third cup of java jive Keeps me goin’ until my break time Do it all again at 5

I’ve been waiting for your day You’re moving forward never knowing I’m right behind I know you better than you know I’ve seen your future, your time has arrived! Tonight’s the night we meet And pride, it cuts you like a knife Tonight’s the night, Another day won’t matter when I’ve had my way You start to pray, you try to fight, it’s okay the end’s in sight Tonight’s the night, tonight’s the night, tonight I’ll see you answer for your crimes It’s only natural You try to stop me with a smile But I am justified Tonight’s the night we meet And pride, it cuts you like a knife Tonight’s the night, Another day won’t matter when I’ve had my way You start to pray, you try to fight, it’s okay the end’s in sight Tonight’s the night, tonight’s the night, tonight Fill the need Fill the space Fill the hunger Fill the pain Tonight, tonight Tonight’s the night Tonight, tonight!

We're not the same, you and I One of us true, the other flying The trip was fun but the road got rough I caught your meaning just soon enough You showed me freedom and you gave your love I played the game, and did it well enough You've taught me so much How to separate my feelings from a **** I'll leave us with a thicker skin And a new place where I begin Don't say goodbye Maybe we'll come together another place, another time Don't tell me lies I know the signals, read the rules And I'm not crying, not in front of you. I'd rather leave an open door Hoping someday you might feel more Don't say goodbye Although in short intensity You really got your claws in me Don't tell me lies I know the signals, read the rules, I'll keep my space and I'll keep my cool.
